You Can Make Any Folder Invisible Without Using Any Software Or Program Just Follow These Steps:

1. Right click where ever you want the invisible folder to be and select create a new folder.

2 Right Click on the folder and hit rename. Erase the name of the folder so there is nothing there.

3. If you try to stop here windows will tell you that you need to provide a name. So to get around this with the name field still active hold down ALT and press 0160 on the number pad (make sure Num Lock is on), release alt

You should now have a blank name with nothing but a folder next to it

4. Now click on the nameless folder and right click. Select Properties.

5. Go to the Customize tab.

6. Find and press the Change Icon button. Scroll through the icons until you find one that has no image.

7. Hit OK and you have an invisible folder!

With the invisible folder you can hide what ever undesirables you have. Be it video games at work, pictures of your family or anything else you can think of “wink”.

The folder will show up for a brief second if you put it on your desktop. For that reason it might be smart to place it inside a folder or amongst a group of folders.

How to Hide a file in Drive
Steps to do it
Go to
All Programs =>Accessories=>Command Prompt
Type your Drive in which the folder is kept
e.g E Drive, songs (folder name which you want to hide)

E: (dont forget to type Colon) then Enter
then type
attrib songs +s +h then Enter
then see the magic

If you want to unhide it
the same procedure but in the place of attrib songs +s +h put -s -h

The welcome screen displays all of the local users on the system, except the built-in administrator account that was created during setup.
Hide Your User Account
If we want to hide a specific user from the list, we need to create a special value under this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindows
NTCurrentVersionWinlogonSpecialAccountsUserList
Under this key you simply create a new DWORD value – the name matches the users name exactly, and the value is one of the following (Decimal format)
0 – Hides the user just from the welcome screen
1 – The user is shown

Before you start putting values in this key, I want to warn you. This tip is particularly dangerous. If you make the wrong move, you could make it nearly impossible to get back into your system. (Use safe mode if you mess up, to get back in)
To disable the users I want, I browse to the registry key on my system:
Now I want to hide all of the accounts except my own, so I add each of the accounts shown on the welcome screen, and give them a value of zero.

How do you log on now that you are a hidden user?
If you are running windows XP Professional you simply need to press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice, and the standard logon screen will be displayed. This has one pitfall – it will fail to work if a user is still currently logged in. If you are having trouble getting it to show, then reboot and press it twice before any users have logged in. (I have not tested this in Windows XP Home…Some people say that the standard logon screen won’t come up (maybe they didn’t get all of the windows updates?), if that happens boot into safe mode and edit the registry back to normal)

Today tip is very useful particularly for those users who want to restrict the common users to shutdown public computer in common areas. You can disable the “Turn off Computer” button on the start menu and a common user will not “Turn Off, Restart and Stand By” a computer. Using registry editor, you can implement this task in all windows XP versions with minimum effort.
Follow the given steps to disable Turn off Computer” button on the start menu:
To use this feature, you will need to be logged into your computer with administrative rights.
Click Start button and type regedit in Run option then press Enter for next.

Here locate the location to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurre ntVersionPoliciesExplorer
Here in right side panel, right click to create a new DWORD value with the name NoClose.

Now assign number 1 in value data box and close the registry editor.

Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect.

But next time, if you want to enable “Turn Off Computer” button on start menu then simply change the value of data box to 0 or delete NoClose DWORD item.

Go to the registry key:

Create a new DWORD, setting its name to the name of the account you wish to hide. Then set its value to 0 to hide it. However, this account isn’t completely hidden because it is visible to administrators in Local User and Groups and also the profile is visible in the Documents and Settings. When you are at the welcome screen, and you want to login to this account, then press Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice and it will display the log-on promt style similar to Windows 2000, then type the username, and the password and hit enter.
